Weight training enthusiasts everywhere will tell you that the chances of getting to the gym and being effective when you’re there dramatically increase if you’ve got a person to challenge you (and maybe drive you). Getting a workout buddy will no doubt increase the frequency of your attendance and the quality of your time there.

If you’re like me at all, then time at the gym is actually a pretty nice getaway. I can break away for an hour, listen to music, and get some blood flowing…without interruption. Having someone to work out with can be a change you hesitate to make, but considering the benefits that will likely result, you may want to reconsider.

A friend to work out with can make it easier to get to the gym on those mornings when it’s tough to go; they can make you stay when you feel like cutting your workout short; and they can help a lot with those lifts you want to do (or should want to do) that will get you to fatigue. Most exercises you perform are more beneficial if you fatigue the muscle. That being the case, most times you’ll need someone to help you get through your lift to get the most productive results, especially if you lift with free weights. A workout buddy can help you get over the hump if you’re working hard to get stronger. Sometimes you just can’t do it on your own.

Another way to look at the concept of a workout buddy is by viewing your supplements in the same way.
