Most guys work out at least in part because they want bigger arms. I think most guys want bigger arms because they think girls like bigger arms. Whatever the case, if getting bigger arms is one of your goals, then having a focused workout, taking the right supplements, and eating the right foods has everything to do with you getting where you want to go.

If you want bigger arms, lift your arms a lot. That’s kind of a no brainer, but lifting your arms often by focusing on particular muscles in your arms can be a smart way to do it. Instead of lifting biceps and triceps in the same day, break them up. Do biceps on Monday, triceps on Wednesday, and maybe shoulders or chest on Friday. Because you have to use your arm muscles in most other workouts targeting your chest and back, focusing on those muscle groups on one day will still provide your arms a decent workout.

To maximize your arm workout, try to minimize your movement and decrease the help your arms are receiving from other muscle groups. For instance, when you do a dumbbell or barbell curl, do not let your shoulders or back do much of the work. Instead stand perfectly still and let your biceps take the full brunt of the weight. This will target the muscle you’re specifically training instead of only providing half the benefit. Pull ups I think are a great workout for your biceps, but don’t use your legs to get your momentum going up, at least not a whole lot. Let your biceps do all the work. Come all the way down as well when you’re doing a pull up rather than just dropping to a ninety degree angle with your arms, or even a hundred and twenty degree angle. The cheating won’t do your arms as much good as having correct form.

Your triceps are a muscle you use in a lot of your chest workouts so it’s important to be strong here. Dips and tricep extensions are very beneficial, but again don’t cheat on your motion. Having correct form is a huge part of getting big arms.

Of course another huge facet to size is nutrition. Most serious body builders use whey protein and/or creatine to supplement their diets. Whey protein helps with speedy recovery and increasing the size of your muscle. Creatine has similar benefits, it’s just a matter of preference in most cases. Regardless, whey protein or creatine should be part of your daily nutrition, most times as a shake, in order for your muscles to grow. To get big arms, you need to have good health, and multivitamins are certainly a smart element to choose.

If you want big arms, you need to focus on your workout, targeting the right muscle groups and providing appropriate rest. But you also need to pay attention to your diet. Adding creatine or whey protein to your diet will benefit your muscles specifically and popping a multivitamin will aid your global health.
